About the Dulangan Manobos

The beneficiaries of this project are the Dulangan Manobos and this is in coordination with the Religious of the Notre Dame of the Missions (RNDM) and their mission the Delesan Kailawan Cultural Heritage Home.

The Dulangan Manobos of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines, have a dynamic relationship with the Religious of Notre Dame of the Missions (RNDM), founded by Euphrasie Barbier. The Dulangan Manobos, an indigenous group, live in a mountainous region and face challenges in preserving their cultural identity.

The founder of this project, Ma. Suzette “Jojie” Navarra Lao (1972-2022), is a sibling of one of the RNDM Sisters assigned in Kulaman. The story began when Jojie experienced the joy of giving to the Dulangan Manobo girls who lived under the RNDM’s dormitory.
